Dear friend,
The 8-for-8 Challenge is about more than one motorcycle ride. It is my way of raising awareness for mental health and addiction counseling while helping support future Counselors who are committed to serving communities where access to care is often limited.
This year, I am once again taking to the road with a goal of raising $8,000 to fully fund a scholarship for a master's-level Counseling student committed to serving rural or military communities.
Throughout my travels, I have seen firsthand how geography, limited resources, and stigma can make it difficult for individuals and families to receive the mental health and addiction counseling services they need. I believe we can help change that by investing in the Counselors who will serve these communities.
I invite you to join me in the 8-for-8 Challenge: Give $8 and ask eight others to do the same. Whether you give $8, $88, or more, every contribution helps create a ripple effect of support.
100% of contributions directly support the NBCC Foundation Scholarship Program, and all donations are tax-deductible.
Thanks for riding with me!
Dr. Robert A. Horne, MDiv., NCC, ACS, LPC, CSI, LCAS, ICAADC, MAC
The NBCC Foundation leverages the power of Counseling to advance global health equity through expanded access to Counseling and mental health services. Scholarships, fellowships, and capacity-building grants are our primary tools for accomplishing our objectives. The Foundations strategy is to award scholarships to individuals pursuing careers as Professional Counselors who are affiliated with high-priority populations and commit to serving them after graduation. Capacity-building grants fund expansion efforts to increase mental health resources in rural and minority communities where access to mental health care is extremely limited.
Since 2010, the NBCC Foundation has awarded over $1,352,000 in scholarships and over $9,000,000 in grant funded fellowships to master's- and doctoral-level counseling students committed to working with underserved communities around the world.
Help us continue to support Counselors and future Counselors bridge the gap in mental health services for those most in need.
